Background of BA Insurance
British American Insurance Co. (Mtius) Ltd began its operations in Mauritius in December 1969. In the late 1990s BA Insurance acquired British American Insurance Company (Kenya) Limited, and the British American Insurance and BUPA agencies in Malta. The Company continued to diversify in Mauritius by acquiring the Mauritius Leasing Company Limited.

In 2002, the Malta operations were merged with those of Globe Financial Management plc, now renamed as GlobalCapital, which is listed on the Maltese Stock Exchange. The Company offers a range of financial services.

In 2003, the BA Insurance group was restructured under a new holding Company, British American Investment Co. (Mtius) Ltd. BA Insurance shares were replaced on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius by the shares of British American Investment.

More than three decades later, the Company has undergone a metamorphosis, spreading its activities beyond that of insurance into other fields, mainly in leasing, financing, mortgage finance, money transfer and fund management.

Prudent management has allowed us to maintain a proven track record of paying dividends throughout our history, while consistently providing quality products and services.
